Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1980 in the United States to combat drunk driving and promote road safety. MADD was created by a mother, Candy Lightner, whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver. MADD's mission is to eliminate drunk driving and to prevent underage drinking

MADD has a website which is where the main operation is controlled. On the website you are able to donate to the cause. It makes it very easy to donate with it being the first thing you see when opening up the website. It also shows the statistics they have achieved while being an organization.

MADD has shown many efforts to try and stop drunk driving. They advocate for stricter laws against drunk driving. This includes lower blood alcohol content (BAC). They also advocate for harsher punishments towards drunk drivers. The organization also has many different campaigns to educate the public about how dangerous drunk driving is.

MADD also provides support for families who have lost a loved one due to drunk driving. This includes emotional support and guidance through the judicial process. MADD also works very closely with law enforcement to promote sobriety checkpoints to decrease the drunk driving rates.  They host events for loved ones who have died due to drunk driving and honor them.

MADD is also reachable through social media. Their main platform being Facebook. Through social media and running commercials MADD is able to spread their message as far as they want to. Social media also makes it easier to reach a larger audience and get their message to the public. With MADD taking all of the necessary actions to end drunk driving, they are saving thousands of lives.
